For the past handful of months – actually, closer to a year, I guess – I’ve been artworkin’ alongside Dj Ashba as he designed this limited edition collection of guitars from the inside out for Ovation Guitars… and finally we can announce their release throughout 2009!
I’m pretty proud of these things… and it’s quite surreal to think that a stray email sent around seven years ago to a guitarist whose music spoke to me has since snowballed to a partnership that stands poised to bring you a lot more than just these sweet little numbers to rock out on!
Of course, that last guitar on the right I had nothing to do with and features the artwork of Michael Godard, “Rockstar of the Art World”.

I had the most amazing New Years Eve… by myself. Every-so-very-rarely I decide to go this route and it’s not the first time. The last time, in 2001, I came away from my evening with the painting, II, to show for it, but this year ended up more… I dunno… reflective, I guess.
I had a glass of red wine and listened to some music that reminded me of my niece and nephew who I’d just seen over the holidays and miss already, then I drew up a small picture that I should finish soon… and when my muse had passed, I meditated for a while. In fact, I did that right through to the midnight hour and when I stood up afterward and walked to the window for the first time in ‘09, the timing was such that it almost seemed as if I was being told something. I looked down to the barren city street below and a white rabbit was hopping through the center of it, past my window. He stopped in the intersection just long enough for me to snap a quick picture…
Anyway… that was my oddly perfect night.
