Growing up, I was always scolded for licking my knife, but I still don’t think it was entirely just. Licked properly, from spine to edge, how can you cut your tongue on a blade?

Those who lick it lengthwise deserve what they get.

Hmmm… on second thought, maybe it was more of a simple table manners thing my parents were trying to instill. I suppose I can appreciate that and, in that case, it’s a shame that didn’t work either.
