Solstice Fire

December 23rd, 2009 (2:09 am)

On the evening of the winter solstice, I attended a ceremonial fire. Brrr.

I brought a shoe box of weight from my past and threw it on the coals as the fire waned. As the flames rose around it, it was nice to see the others step forward to gather around the warmth it could provide them.

There is always a reward in letting go.

What’s Over Norway?

December 9th, 2009 (12:57 pm)

What the hell was that last night over Norway? Thousands saw it, many of whom submitted their pictures here. There’s plenty of video too. And I like the timing.

I won’t be so bold to speculate what it was one way or the next, but I will say I agree with vendetta007mike, a commenter on YouTube, who said, “It’s not a Russian missile that is failed, but the heads of those who claimed that.”
