Solstice Fire

December 23rd, 2009 (2:09 am)

On the evening of the winter solstice, I attended a ceremonial fire. Brrr.

I brought a shoe box of weight from my past and threw it on the coals as the fire waned. As the flames rose around it, it was nice to see the others step forward to gather around the warmth it could provide them.

There is always a reward in letting go.

  1. wait a minute, didn’t you bring baggage to the fire other than a shoebox?
